On Saturday, May 26th at approximately 1:19 am, Dudley Sergeant Paul Ceppetelli and Officer Marek Karlowicz were dispatched to the Dudley Golf Range for a report of a suspicious person in the parking lot. The owner of the property was the person who reported the incident. He had seen people on the premises via video feed.
Upon arrival the officers were informed the suspect had fled on foot towards the golf range. During the course of the investigation, they were able to stop suspicious vehicle in the area.
There was a female driver and a male in the front passenger seat. The male was later identified as Darrin Lavallee age 47 of Webster, Ma. He was sweating and had some grass clippings on his shoes and bottom of his pants. He appeared very nervous. Inside the car, officers located two large vehicle batteries as well as a bag with gloves and various tools. A check of the scene revealed these batteries has been removed from an excavator parked on the property. This person was also suspected of attempting to steal rims from cars parked at that location.
Mr. Lavallee was taken into custody. He was held awaiting bail for an appearance in Dudley District Court on Tuesday, May 29th.
Lavallee was charged with the following:
Chapter 266 Section 30 Larceny over $250
Chapter 266 Section 120 Trespass
Chapter 266 Section 49 Possession of burglarious tools
Chapter 266 Section 16 B&E into a vehicle at nighttime
